Biography

Professor Dr. Katharina Diehl studied social sciences at the University of Mannheim and Jyväskylä (Finland). After graduation, she worked as a project manager and later as a program manager at the Mannheim Institute for Public Health, Social and Preventive Medicine from May 2009 on. In 2013, she received her doctorate in sociology from the University of Trier. This was followed by her habilitation in 2018 and the award of the Venia Legendi for the subject “Public Health” at the Medical Faculty Mannheim at the University of Heidelberg.

In November 2021, she was appointed adjunct professor. In addition, she was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Certificate for University Didactics (2011) and the National Certificate in Epidemiology (2020).

Since January 2022, she has held the Professorship of Epidemiology and Public Health, which is located at the Institute of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology.

In August 2022 she has taken charge of the contemporary management of the Chair of Digital Health, also located at the Institute of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology.
