Wearable IoT based Indoor Localization Solution for a Smart Hospital
Bachelor / Master Thesis
Hospitals can be daunting to find your way around as patients. Most of the times, one will end up asking for directions and being late for appointments for first time. Indoor Localization in a Smart Hospital environment could help patients to find their way easily without any assistance from staff. Patients can be provided with a wearable device which can help them localise and navigate to their place of interest (Laboratories, checkup with Doctors etc.) This project includes: (1) Understanding the indoor localization technologies, proposing a wearable device with specific signal technology (e.g. BLE, ZigBee etc.) & analysing the most suitable localization approaches (RSSI, ToA etc.) for it (2) In-lab experiment: design and conduct experiments to collect localisation data (3) real time localization solution prototype.
